Mission Statement:

We believe our welcoming residential beach community will thrive for generations to come with  leaders, advisors, and experts who respect the lifestyle and distinct small town charm of St Pete Beach.

Prioritize our Community Character

We are a welcoming beach community with less than 9,000 residents. We expect our elected representation to represent  the people.

Address Aging Infrastructure

SPB has an aging and stressed infrastructure system, despite residents paying the majority of taxes and the county collecting millions of dollars annually in Tourist Development Tax * (Hotel Bed Tax) from our beaches.

The disparity of tax  burden on residents to support tourism is unacceptable, and we need representatives who will work to fix this imbalance -- without increasing density and intensity of demands on our limited resources.

Protect Wildlife & Water

Our barrier island is home to many wildlife species many of which are on the threatened and endangered species list. City, state and federal  codes  must be enforced to protect the wildlife.  Tourism intensity can potentially stress these protected species.

Miles of sandy white beaches and crystal clear water define our landscape. The decisions of elected officials at a federal, state, and local level  affect Florida’s freshwater resources. We expect our local representatives to engage with County and State officials to make changes necessary for improving, not worsening our waters.

Preserve Beaches and Resident Access

Our being declared the Sunset Capital of Florida reflects the long tradition of customary use on our public beaches. Public beach access should be preserved for residents and guests.

Beach ordinances should be equally enforced across businesses and individuals to ensure that our beaches remain clean and welcoming for people and wildlife.

Ensure Public Safety

Public safety is a joint responsibility between government, businesses and the public. We must have a public safety system that promotes and ensures that unnecessary and undue hazards are eliminated. We expect our local representatives to work diligently to ensure this principle.

Maintain Fiscal Responsibility with Tax Dollars

Tax payers reasonably expect that elected representatives will maintain a budget consistent with best practices that address our policy priorities listed on this page.
